Planned Activities

The Filipino American Community Center will be a lasting legacy  of the Sacramento multicultural community, its children and citizens. The center will not only showcase Philippine history, but its  rich culture and heritage too. The building will be located at the corner of East Southgate and 66th Avenue in Sacramento. The lot is 1.9 acres and is owned outright by the Filipino Community of Sacramento and Vicinity.  Below are the planned programs/activities/use for the building:

CULTURAL
• Dance Lessons - native & folk dances
• Performing Arts classes - youth & adult
• Museum and library of history & culture

EDUCATIONAL
• Language classes including: English as a second language; Tagalog classes
• Computer training for youth & adults
• Youth leadership seminars
• Mock oral interviews for prospective job applicants

HEALTH AND OTHERS
• Low impact aerobics
• Diabetes support group
• Free blood pressure checks
• Classes on diet for healthful living
• Social, Religious, and other activities
• Seminars on domestic violence & safety
• Weddings, baptismal & birthday events
• Food and Health fairs
• Counseling on Immigration & US Citizenship
